Start with Our Catalog to Find Something Right Now

Our own catalog offers some fun options for finding a new book.

When you're on the main catalog page, you will see What's Hot, and a Featured List of books, for suggestions.  Click on the List tab and then you will find several lists of suggestions compiled by our librarians and other trusted sources.
There are many ways to find a new book to enjoy - Let us help!
NoveList Plus is a great resource for finding a new author, another non-fiction book about the same topic you liked, or a novel set in the same area as your favorite book, for example. Click on the image to go to NoveList site. You may need your 14 digit library card to log in.

You can watch a quick tutorial on using NoveList from YouTube:  NoveList 101 video

Goodreads.com is a website you can join, and then save lists of books you've read, categorize your favorites, make lists of what you own, what you've lent to friends...
Many people use it for recommendations as well. If you rate some books you've read, then the site will begin recommending books you may enjoy.

What's Next™: Books in Series Database of Kent District Library is a very useful tool in finding that next book in a series, or determining the order in which a series should be read. We use it often when patrons ask for help. Thanks, Kent District Library!

LibraryThing is an online service to help people catalog their books easily and keep track of what has been read.
You can access your catalog from anywhere—even on your mobile phone. Because everyone catalogs together, LibraryThing also connects people with the same books, comes up with suggestions for what to read next, and so forth.  It can be totally private, or become a way to meet other readers online who enjoy your taste.
