Storytime for 3 -5 Year Olds
September through MAY 21
During our gap time between Youth Services Librarians, we will only offer the Thursday Storytime.
Thursday - 1:30PM
This 45 minute story time is just right for 3-5 year olds. It is filled with stories, songs, movement, and activity.
Listening to stories and participating in fingerplays, songs, crafts, and dramatic responses can broaden children’s experiences and stimulate creative thought. It offers an opportunity to develop socialization, language, and listening skills, and builds the foundations for reading.
There won't be any sign up for a specific series of Storytimes. All sessions will be held on a "Drop-In" basis.
Please note: During the school year, if Hampstead schools are not in session ( weather-related or school vacations), storytime will not be held.
Storytime for Infants to Age 2
"Mother Goose on the Loose"
In the interim period between Youth Services Librarians, this storytime won't be held. Parents certainly may bring kids to the library to enjoy social time.
This story hour is for young children (infants to age 2) accompanied by an adult.
The program helps children develop early literacy skills, a stepping stone in getting your child ready to read. Nursery rhymes, movement games, finger plays, music and stories encourage children to recognize patterns of language at a very young age. It's great fun for parents and children!
All sessions are "Drop-In"; no sign up necessary and continue through the summer.
